In Ticonderoga, west of the downtown section, is a Masonic Temple Building for Mt. Defiance Lodge No. 794.
The building is on the south side of the road. It is just prior to reaching the rotary with the memorial at the center.
The building is brick with a peaked roof. The front is to one end of the long side. There is a double door painted blue. Above the door and on a sign nearby are the words, "Mt. Defiance Lodge 794 F. & A. M." On the sign is the additional text, "Ft. Ticonderoga Chapter 263 O. E. S. (Order of Eastern Star)."
On the corner is a plaque with the following:
"Mt Defiance Lodge
No. 794 F. & A.M.
Carillon Chapter
No. 290 R.A.M.
Fort Ticonderoga Chapter
No. 442 O.E.S."
I couldn't find anything to confirm whether the Royal Arch Masons chapter, Carillon, is still there.
The sign advertised a dinner on 9/10, just before the visit, so the lodge is still active, though I couldn't find an active online presence.
