U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey Benchmark EL0491 - Waurika, OK - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

The benchmark disk is very easy to locate, as it's at the southeast corner of the building. Simply to go the entrance (east side), turn yourself 90 degrees to the left (south), and walk to the end of the building. Look right (west) and there it is, in excellent condition.

RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1986 RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. A NEW DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS. IN WAURIKA, AT THE INTERSECTION OF NORTH MAIN AND WEST C STREETS, SET VERTICALLY IN THE SOUTH FACE IN THE BRICK FOUNDATION WALL OF THE COURTHOUSE, 37.0 M (121.4 FT) SOUTH OF THE CENTER OF C STREET, 26.1 M (85.6 FT) WEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF MAIN STREET, 10.5 M (34.4 FT) SOUTH OF THE CENTER OF THE EAST ENTRANCE TO THE COURTHOUSE, AND 0.2 M (0.7 FT) WEST OF THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE COURTHOUSE. THE MARK IS 1.3 M ABOVE THE GROUND.
