The only remnant of the early 14th century watch castle that once stood on the pronounced bill over the town of Nejdek is the well-preserved Black Tower built in Romanesque and Gothic style. The Black Tower, which served as the entrance gate, has several loopholes and narrow windows. During its reconstruction in the 19th century, the tower was lowered, it received a new pyramidal roof with a gallery and it was converted to a belfry with a very unique bell from the 16th century.
