With a frequently shifting sand bar and entrance at Harrington and Manning Point (directly opposite Harrington), the volunteers need to be alert to dangers the posed when vessels enter and exit Manning River for the open sea.

Crowdy 20 is a 6.5m Naiad RHIB
Crowdy 30 is a 9.5m Naiad Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat - commissioned in June 2015. It is powered by twin 250hp Suzuki engines and can reach speeds above 40 knots (74 km/h). "This fully equipped new boat has the capability to operate up to 30NM offshore and has all of the latest electronics for search and rescue operations, including a cardiac defibrillator and oxygen therapy equipment with fully qualified first aid people."
