Yellow Bay State Park is a small 15-acre park with only 5 tent sites. But what it lacks in size it makes up for in beauty and (at least for our visit) peacefulness.

This park is located along the east shore of Flathead Lake in Montana. The location offers a small number of spacious, grassy tent sites (non-electric), washrooms with flush toilets and showers, a small picnic area, a small beach, a boat launch, and best of all stunning views across the lake.

We stopped and camped at this park while driving through Montana. We initially stopped further south at Finley Point State Park. There we found a couple dozen trailers packed into a parking-lot style campground, a couple tent sites on raised pads filled with pea gravel, and tiny outhouses with RV-style toilets. That did not interest us at all, so we continued north to this park which was completely vacant (except for the very friendly Campground Hosts). My single gripe is having to pay an extra $10 USD per night and a out-of-state visitor - not a great way to attract tourists to your state IMO.
