This building dates back prior to 1868 and is estimated to have been built in 1865. The earliest tenants of this building are unknown, but it is believed to have housed C.J.B. Style's Dry Goods Store. By the 1880's the Forbes Dry Goods Store had moved into the building. Then in 1880, the building was the home of the F.N. Newton Drugstore which was a precursor to the Newton Brother's Pharmacy. The Newton pharmacies date back to their establishment in 1871. The Newton's maintained a pharmacy at this location up until 1903. From 1903 to 1916 the F.H. Chamberlain Drugstore had moved into the building. Chamberlain had also bought the entire building as well. From 1922 to at least 1931 the building remained a pharmacy. During that time in 1925 H.O. Taylor bought the building and most likely moved his drugstore in. During its entire life the second floor of the building has been used as apartments. Today the building has a spur of Western Technical College which helps adults get their GED's.
