In North Adams, within the Natural Bridge State Park, is this marble rock with the coordinates engraved on them.
The station is at the end of the access road from the east. From downtown North Adams, go east on Route 8, then left at a fork, leaving Mass. Route 2, then a short distance to the entrance to the park at a sign. Drive up the road, past the quarry to the parking lot and the ranger station in view. The stone is along the sidewalk, near the parking lot.
The stone is on the ground, and it is marble, which is a common stone in this park as it is the site of a former marble quarry. The coordinates, as well as the elevation, are engraved on it and painted black.
The state park is open Memorial Day to Columbus Day, 9 to 5.
