Statue of St. John of Nepomuk on Upper Bridge in Bamberg, across from a Calvary sculpture, with the old Bamberg town hall in the back.
John of Nepumuk was canonized under Pope Benedict XIII in 1729. Today, he is considered the patron saint of the Czech Republic. He is also the patron saint of bridges, and his statue can be found on many bridges in Bohemia, Poland and South Germany.
His statue can be easily identified as it is usually done with an Aura, symbolized by a ring of stars.
