"The Gallenbergs had important positions and functions in Krain and played a significant role in political and military life. Siegfried von Gallenberg was the Landeshauptmann from 1405 to 1407, Jost von Gallenberg fought in 1462, Georg in 1529 before Vienna in the imperial army. In 1452 Hans von Gallenberg took part in the Battle of Ulrich von Cilli against Emperor Friedrich III.
The Gallenbergs lost, among other things, also their named castle Gallenberg to the provincial princes."
