Bruntál is at the same time one of the oldest towns of the of the so called Czech Crown and has a very rich history which has shaped the character of the city in the form of valuable landmarks, including a château, museum exhibits or the newly renovated square with the original municipal houses.
Chateau was Renaissance rebuilt in 16th century and it is typical sample of North Renaissance. After burbing in 1641 it was partly barouque rebuilt. Other important buildings gothic church from 15th century (Renaissance rebuilt) or Empire town hall. Bruntál is also important starting-point of trips to are of mountains Hrubý Jeseník and Nízký Jeseník.
The manhole cover is located beside a local tax office building.
