In 1896 this building, which used bricks from the Halcyon Brick Yard in Black River Falls, was built for J.H. Ralston. It had two storefronts with one being Mr. Ralston's grocery and confectionery and the East end becoming the Walder Brothers Barber Shop. In 1904 the grocery store closed down and that side of the building became home to the new Band Box Saloon (most likely the precursor to today's Band Box Cleaners). After that several unnamed businesses became tenants over the years. Today the storefronts are for rent and the upstairs are used for apartments.
