This marker is in a tucked-away spot in this confusing area of courts and crooked alleyways along Fleet Street.
It is most easily accessed from Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese pub. Instead of heading towards Fleet Street, turn back down the alley towards Wine Court. This concrete floor marker will be in the center of the passageway.
The marker reads as follows:
WINE OFFICE COURT
Mrs. LIRRIPPER'S LODGINGS
The Extra Christmas Number
CHARLES DICKENS
Saturday 30th April 1859
Charles Dickens, pen name "Boz" operated out of the Cheshire cheese pub while producing his journal "All the Year Round."
