There are several ghost signs in Cracow, a ghost mining town. Some are quite difficult to discern however this was an agency for the Bank of New South Wales. The Bank of New South Wales changed its name to Westpac in 1982. The building is now a residence but the owners have retained the original sign. I noted the railing out the front where former customers could tie up their horse.
Cracow owed its existence to a large gold mine on the edge of town which was opened in 1931 & operated until 1976. It reopened in 2003 however the town is little changed due to the mine having its own camp & workers living in nearby larger towns.
