St Mark's began life in 1852 as a Methodist-Episcopal Church. It served the surrounding communities of Cannifton, Canniff Mills and south Corbyville for over 70 years before realignment with the new United Church of Canada in 1925.
Parts of the original church have been incorporated into the newer building currently in use. The church's dated keystone from 1852 is still prominent.
