The Löwen-apotheke in Trier was first mentioned in 1241 as a pharmacy.
This is the oldest pharmacy in Germany. Since 1660 the farm is family owned.

The Löwen-Apotheke is one of the most important houses from the transition from the late Renaissance to the early baroque in Trier's old town. - On the second floor, the rear facade shows two late-Gothic floors with characteristic, dazzling-arched lintels (from a house still extant in 1557, dated 1557). To the original equipment counts in the shop area (in the northern part supplemented) Cologne ceiling, which finds its counterpart in the overlying upper floor room. The wooden ceiling in the corresponding room on the second floor without stucco decoration. - In the store, a late-Renaissance stearin of the late Renaissance, which is preserved in situ, is preserved with vegetal volutes (transformed into a well). A stone roof, allegedly derived from a Roman children's sarcophagus, was also converted into a drinking fountain.
