Rockenfeld was a small village in the district of Neuwied. At the end of the 1960s the citizens of this village decided to abandone their village. It was burnt down and the house were teared away. The veteran memorial was preserved and can still be visited.
The memorial was build in 1962 and is not dedicated to the veterans of a specific war nor are the victims listed there. Only the word "Den Gefallenen unserer Gemeinde" (The fallen of our community) is printed on it.

Description of Memorial: The memorial is placed directly at the former street of the village. The area around the memorial has became overgrown. The memorial itself is still in good condition.
The memorial is a brick building made from broken stone. An Iron cross is on the top of the memorial. Its height is about 1m
