There are 6 bells in the church tower at Upchurch. The tower is unusal as in it is a shape of an octagonal 'candle snuffer' sitting on top of a square pyramyd.

The first bell wwas hung in this church in 1632 with new bells added over the years, the newest dating fron 1866.

1960 Ringing stopped as the tower was deemed to be unsafe.
