Die Helikopter haben quasi ihre eigene Fußbodenheizung. Beim alten Landeplatz, der noch lange benutzt wurde, bis das neue Bettenhaus und die darin befindlichen medizinischen Versorgungsräume offiziell in Betrieb waren, musste Schnee und Eis noch mit Muskelkraft beseitigt werden. Der Hubschrauberlandeplatz ist über einen Fahrstuhl direkt mit dem Diagnostikgeschoss verbunden. Hier sind alle Abteilungen, die für die Notfallversorgung erforderlich sind, zentral auf einer Ebene angesiedelt. Dadurch können Patienten noch schneller untersucht und behandelt werden.
