Fred Jurgs died in 1954 aged 72 & his headstone is engraved with a thoroughbred horse, its jockey & the winner's cup. His headstone states:
Lived with a love of thoroughbred horses among which he breed the following Owin, Crazy Clap, Jude, Wood Marlow, Qwet, Don Hazzard, Sea Shell, Gun Shot, Dwan, Creeping Jane, Dorkey, Guntower, Future Idea, Bay Finchley, Dogo, Gunlayer.
