"The sculpture on a relatively thin stem grows into a fan-like leafy top that, like a large funnel made up of countless tentacles, intercepts the air waves, the flow of the wind, the radiation of the earth, translating them into a sculptural language. The tension between the organic and the artificial forms is similar to the one in Kotnik’s paintings; the sculpture strikes us as a monumental work, but it also creates illusions of translucency, tenderness and sensitivity, with which the artist approached his medium."
