The George Rogers Clark Discovery Trail is an 8.7-mile bicycle/pedestrian trail connecting the cities of Metropolis and Brookport through Massac County and Fort Massac State Park.
To reach this trailhead, take Exit 37 off I-24 and go east on US 45 for 0,43 miles. Turn right onto Belgrade road and head south then east for 2.42 miles. The trailhead is on the right and parking is on the left.
There is also parking and trail access off both Belgrade Road and Strawberry to the east as well as the Fort Massac visitor center to the west. Belgrade Rd and Strawberry Road provides access which can be used to ride the 2.7-mile rail-trail section of the trail, even when high water closes the connecting road to the park facilities on the west.
