[FR] Jean-Pierre Rives, connu de tous pour ses exploits en tant que capitaine de l'équipe de France de rugby, s'est reconverti il y a quelques années dans la sculpture.

C'est en entrant un jour par hasard dans l'atelier d'Albert Féraud que Jean-Pierre Rives comprend qu'il sera sculpteur, il apprend désormais à dompter la matière (le métal), à lui donner vie, à lui accorder un sens. Il coupe, découpe, tord, soude pour donner à ses œuvres un élan, des formes élancées vers le ciel, d'ailleurs un de ses rêves d'artiste serait d'exposer sur la lune, ainsi, ses œuvres pourraient tenir sans aucun support, comme des nuages. Mais la matière est coriace, elle prend toujours le dessus sur l'homme « la création, ce n'est que de l'énergie et de la souffrance », il sort constamment vidé de son atelier.
