THE LOCATION
"The high tree density sets up a typology of urban green space similar to an urban forest. Inside it is also worth mentioning the existence of water lines and a lake, a strong increase biodiversity in the park. The Carriçal Urban Park is adjacent to Manuel Pinto de Azevedo Park where are located various sports facilities (tennis courts and a sports ring), the Cultural Center, and associate the church cemetery. In the northern part of the park, is the Senhora da Hora Municipal Pool and a bar. The park is a project of the City of Matosinhos, by the Architect MargaridaFontes."

THE PERSON
"Narciso Miranda, after the April 25, 1974 revolution, entered politics running for the first democratic local elections, as number two on the list submitted by the Socialist Party for the Municipality of Matosinhos. He arrived for the first time, to the president of that authority in 1977 and re-elected successively holding the post for 29 years. It was also president of the District Federation of Socialist Party until 2002, when it was replaced by Francisco Assis. Narciso Miranda was Secretary of State for Maritime and Port Administration of the XIV Constitutional Government led by António Guterres."
