The clock face has four sides & is supported on a pole. A four sided panel at its base has historical information although reading it is problematic given its proximity to traffic. The clock is 78 years old & last year ceased to function.
An expert in historic clock repairs was contracted & with the addition of modern elements such as a Tempus clock controller and GPS receiver it now keeps accurate time all the time and automatically reverts between daylight savings and Australian Eastern Standard Time. It will also do automatic adjustments in the event of a power outage.
