DE: Der Nymphenburger Schlosspark ist eines der größten und bedeutendsten Gartenkunstwerke Deutschlands. Er bildet mit dem Schloss Nymphenburg und den Parkburgen eine Einheit. Die Anlage liegt im Westen Münchens im nach dem Schloss benannten Stadtbezirk Neuhausen-Nymphenburg an der Grenze zu Pasing-Obermenzing. Der Park steht als Gartenkunstwerk unter Denkmalschutz und ist Landschaftsschutzgebiet. Fast sein gesamtes Gebiet ist darüber hinaus auch als Natura2000-Gebiet gemeldet.
Die kunstvolle Verknüpfung von formalem Garten und Landschaftspark gilt als Meisterwerk der Gartenkunst und macht die Gesamtanlage aus Schloss und Park zu einer vielbesuchten Attraktion. Sie wird an ihrer östlichen, der Stadt zugewandten Seite vom Nymphenburger Schloss mit dem vorgelagerten Schlossrondell begrenzt. Von allen anderen Seiten ist sie weitgehend von der historischen Gartenmauer umschlossen. Nach Norden schließt sich der Botanische Garten an und dahinter, jenseits der Menzinger Straße, das Kapuzinerhölzl.
Vorbilder für den ursprünglichen Barockgarten waren die französischen Gärten von Schloss Vaux-le-Vicomte und Schloss Versailles. Die heutige Gestalt ist das Ergebnis der grundlegenden Umgestaltung durch Friedrich Ludwig Sckell ab 1799. Der Park innerhalb der Gartenmauer hat eine Größe von 180 Hektar, die Fläche der gesamten Anlage beträgt 229 Hektar.

EN: The Nymphenburg Palace is one of the largest and most significant gardens of art in Germany. It forms a unit with the Nymphenburg Palace and the Park buildings. The facility is located in the west of Munich in the directory named after the Castle District Neuhausen-Nymphenburg on the border with Pasing-Obermenzing. The park is a garden artwork conservation and landscape protection area. Almost all of its territory is also reported as a Natura 2000 area.
The artful combination of formal garden and landscaped park is considered a masterpiece of garden design and makes the entire system from the palace and park in a much visited attraction.
