She was born Casiena Ellen Bross on 29 May 1914 in St. Louis, Missouri -- the first of 12 children. On 25 September 1937, in Quincy Illinois, she married Earl Joseph Fones (1914-1998) who was just a few months older than her. Besides studying at the Art Institute in Chicago, she also graduated from Moody Bible Institute*.

Earl passed on in 1998 at the ripe age of 84. Casiena carried on until 22 July 2014, just a couple of months past her 100th birthday celebration.

* This poster's father taught at Moody Bible Institute for over 25 years; 4 of my 5 siblings attended the school and 2 graduated from it.
