This is a Red Jacket pump, with a designation of U21 stamped on it. It is located at the former one-room New Bethel School, about 3 miles northwest of Anderson, Missouri.
I was able to pump the handle down and up, but was unable to get any water to come out. I made sure that each of the outlets was opened up, each one in turn. Before leaving the building, I made sure that everything was left as I had found it (big valve open, small valve closed). Perhaps the pump needs priming. Everything about it seems to work good, but it did not draw water.
