She was born Myrtle Arvila Clifford on 21 October 1812 in Ashtabula County of Ohio, during the War of 1812. She preferred to go by her second name Arvila. Along the way she married a Mr. Taylor.

She was a teen when the US war with Mexico was going on, and she was 39 years old when the US Civil War started. She died on 6 February 1915 -- you guessed it -- during World War I, having reached almost a half year over 102 years old. Her life spanned from war to war. In spite of that, let us hope that she had a lot of personal enjoyment during her long life.
