AT MEMPHIS, AT THE INTERSECTION OF NORTH FRONT STREET AND MADISON AVENUE, AT THE EAST FRONT OF COURTHOUSE-CUSTONHOUSE-POST OFFICE BUILDING, IN LINE WITH THE EXTENDED CENTER LINE OF MADISON AVENUE LEADING EAST, 14.9 FEET WEST OF THE WEST CURB OF NORTH FRONT STREET, 1.3 FEET EAST OF THE EAST FACE OF A GRANITE WALL 3 FEET HIGH, DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE CENTER ONE OF 3 ENTRANCES TO POST OFFICE, TOP OF RAISED STAINLESS STEEL CENTER IN CENTER OF A BRONZE COMPASS ON TOP OF A 15-INCH SQUARE LIMESTONE POST, PROJECTING 1.4 FEET ABOVE SIDEWALK. NOTE-- THE POST WAS LOWERED BY CITY ENGINEERS, YEAR RESET NOT KNOWN.
