Well, it was built as the utilities building, but not long ago Dallas built a HUGE (8 acres) Municipal complex further west of downtown and this became the city police department.

County of building: Paulding County
Location of building: 120 Main St., Dallas

Today this former Utilities building is the city police station. The first national Bank next door is today the municipal court and the County Courthouse across the street is now the Genealogy Library and History Research Center.

When all the changes took place I am not sure. I have been to the new Municipal Complex, and it is bigger than some shopping malls back in Missouri. The place is gigantic.

Year built or dedicated as indicated on the structure or plaque: 1960
