Tambar Springs is noted for the number of fossils of Diprotodons found in the area. The church has a sign about its history which includes a metal rendition of such a beast, which were plant eating marsupials about the size of a hippopotamus.
The sign states the church was built in 1906 the product of local parishioner product and care. It was blessed by Bishop O'Connor upon completion. That care continues with the church being well maintained.
You can celebrate Mass on the second & fourth Sunday of the month at 11 am.
