At over 700 acres, the 13 northern wildlife species have plenty of space to enjoy their habitat.
The Preserve's Mission Statement: To promote knowledge and foster appreciation of arctic and boreal ecology through the creation of a centre of northern education, conservation and research excellence at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve.
Animals at the Preserve are woodland caribou, Canada lynx, Rocky Mountain elk, mountain goats, Alaska Yukon moose, mule deer, muskoxen, wood bison, two varieties of thinhorn sheep (Dall's sheep and stone sheep), red foxes and arctic foxes in habitats suited to each species.
The landscape is really interesting and diverse. It includes low-lying flat lands, rolling hills, wetlands and steep rock cliffs.
