EN: This stone cross is located north of the church tower next to the church of Naters. It is, including the pedestal, about four meters high and relatively thin. The Jesus figure is made of metal. On the pedestal, it has the inscription: "Fear God and keep his commandments" and the year 1908. The two "N" in the inscription are sideways; I have already seen this on several crosses at "INRI", but never before in a longer text.
DE: Dieses Steinkreuz steht nördlich des Kirchturms neben der Kirche von Naters. Es ist mit Podest rund vier Meter hoch und relativ dünn. Die Jesus-Figur ist aus Metall. Im Podest steht die Inschrift: "Fürchte Gott und halte seine Gebote" und das Jahr 1908. Die beiden "N" in der Inschrift sind seitenverkehrt; das habe ich schon auf mehreren Kreuzen bei "INRI" gesehen, aber noch nie bei einem längeren Text.
