Teufelsbachtal-Viadukt

Das Teufelsbachtal-Viadukt wurde 1909 im Rahmen des Baus der eingleisigen Bahnstrecke Eisfeld–Sonneberg als mit Sandstein-Rustika verkleidete Bruchsteinkonstruktion mit 5500 Kubikmeter Sandstein errichtet. Im April 1945 sprengte die Wehrmacht die beiden östlichen Gewölbe. 1947 war das Bauwerk wiederhergestellt. 1966/67 folgte eine Instandsetzung. Das im Grundriss gekrümmte Viadukt ist 171 Meter lang und überspannt mit acht Gewölben von je 17 Meter lichter Weite den Teufelsgraben. Die Pfeiler sind durch Werksteingesime in Kämpferhöhe, wappenförmige Blendfelder und verblendete Spargewölbe in den Bogenzwickeln gegliedert.
