Enjoy low impact recreation in one of Simcoe County's many public forests. Originally established to rehabilitate 'wastelands', the Simcoe County Forest is the largest and one of the most productive municipal forests in Ontario, totaling over 31,000 acres.

Permitted activities are walking, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing,orienteering, geocaching, nature appreciation and study, horseback riding, dog walking (pets must be under control or on leash), and harvesting of non-wood forest products for personal use only.

Permitted activities with restrictions are mountain biking (no unauthorized trail construction), motorized trail riding, hunting and fishing (as per provincial hunting and fishing regulations, hunters require OFAH membership), trapping, and organized or commercial events (Property Use Agreement required).
