The Waggyl is, according to Noongar (local aboriginal) culture, a snakelike dreamtime creature responsible for the creation of the waterways and landforms of the south-west of Western Australia.The carving is one of a group of carved posts that depict the various attractions, industry and mythology of the town, the carvings include trout fishing, fresh-water crayfish farming, engineering,flora and fauna and aboriginal mythology, the carvings are next to the tourist information bay north of town
