The red-tailed black cockatoo depicted in the carving is a critically endangered species and is one of the largest cockatoos in W.A.. and is one of a group of carved posts that depict the various attractions, industry and mythology of the town, the carvings include trout fishing, fresh-water crayfish farming, engineering,flora and fauna and aboriginal mythology, the carvings are next to the tourist information bay north of town
