Cemetery established approx 1875 or earlier

Earliest burial date I found was 1876

After July 1st 1893 ...." After this date, a frame, two story school house was built and the Methodist and Christian Churches were also built." ~ Kingdom of Callaway Historical Society

The residence of this town only remember this as the christian church and the cemetery to them was a pioneer cemetery in front of which the church built their building.
I can find nothing in print to confirm or contradict the statements.

".......married her in 1845 in Mokane, Callaway County, MO. Six yrs later she died & burial is in Smith Cemetery behind Mokane Christian Church. This is a city cemetery never associated with the church. Married 2nd wife Mathilda E. Estill on Dec 30, 1852." ~ WikiTree
