This monument was dedicated on Memorial Day, 1901. When dedicated there were 66 names inscribed, the others were added at later dates. Artist is unknown, contractor was S J Nason Company. The sculpture is made of granite.

On front of base:) South Berwicks roll of honor/(two columns of 44 names) (On front of lower base, raised:) 1861-1865 (On back of base:) WE FOUGHT IN OBEDIENCE TO THE SPIRIT OF LIBERTY/(40 names listed) (On side of base:) THEY SLEEP BUT THEIR WORKS DO NOT FOLLOW THEM/(24 names listed) (On other side of base:) IN MEMORY OF OUR FALLEN COMRADES/(42 names listed)
