This war memorial was originally erected to commemorate the Men of Carnforth who died in World War I.

The memorial is located on Market St, Carnforth, in a small memorial garden, and comprises a square granite plinth upon which stands a bronze figure of a soldier, standing at ease and with rifle. It is flanked by a United Kingdom flag and a French flag and was was dedicated on 9 November 1924.

It was amended after World War II for the men who died in that war.

It has three bronze plaques, one for those killed in WW1, one for those who died due to WW1 1918-1924 and one for WW2.

The inscriptions and names on the three bronze tablets are as follows.
