Dedicated some time in the 20's, this monument still stands today on the grounds of the old Vernon County Courthouse. This monument is right next to a sidewalk, East of the main entrance. It breaks the death down into three categories: those who died in country, those who died in battle, and those who died of disease elsewhere. The monument is cracked near the top right but is still very readable. The grounds to the courthouse are open to the public.
