The inscriptions reads:
This bell was used since 1865 to call the superintendent from the grounds to the office, or the workmen in case of forest fire. For many years it was mounted on a tower over this boulder abd tablet by the cemetery office. The office was moved in 1965 and the bell and tablet put into storage. They were re-set for display at this site in 1986.
