"From Shield to Shore, Yours to Explore" symbolizes the diversity of landscapes. The rugged and hilly Canadian Shield in the northern half of the County and the flatter limestone plain along the shores of Lake Ontario to the south. There's an experience for everyone
The Lennox & Addington County Trails include 12 looping routes consisting of 600 kilometres of paved roadway where you never retrace your path, yet are able to end where you began.
Route F "Sheffield" is a challenging 78 km ride. Here is the description found at www.countytrails.com:
You could call this the transition route. The land surrounding the village of Tamworth is dotted with working farms, wetlands and limestone outcroppings. As you travel north the landscape changes rapidly, giving way to spectacular views of granite and evergreens that dominate the southern edge of the Canadian Shield. This ride takes you through the communities of Tamworth, Erinsville, Arden and Kaladar.
