A new bridge was built in 1993 with better clearance and to sustain greater weight loads. The earlier bridge is enjoyed by pedestrians.

For many years logging was an active industry on this road. Later forest service and others had reason to bring in larger trailers with heavy equipment. Road Safety was another impetus as the new bridge is less of a curve.
