This cannonball is on display with the wood in which it is wedged after being fired at HMS VICTORY at the Battle of Trafalgar. This astonishing memento of battle is on display at the the Nelson Gallery of the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich.

The cannonball is painted with the following words:

"This shot entered the bow of the VICTORY at the glorious Battle off Trafalgar on the 21 October, 1805, and lodged in the piece of timber where it now lies wedged in"
