Long Description:
This overlook is one of many in Deception Pass State park, but
unique as it is located at the tip of an island in the middle of
Deception Pass.
The photo above is taken from the bridge that leads to Pass
Island and connects the mainland, Pass Island, and Whidbey
Island.
Pass Island can be seen in the foreground and the viewpoint is
at the tip of the island (towards the middle of the photo). My
photo from the overlook itself was blurry, so I used this one that
shows both the overlook and the view from the overlook.
To reach the overlook, park in the visitor parking lots on
either side of the bridge. There are restrooms at the South parking
area. Walk over the bridge, using the pedestrian lane on the East
side, until you reach the center of the bridge. You'll see a
monument telling about the Pass here. Take the stairs near the
monument that lead down to the Island itself. At the base of the
stairs you'll see a trail that leads along the South side of the
island. Follow that trail out to the tip of the Island (about 1/2
mile). Enjoy the beautiful view.
