This trio of boxes are located on Paul Sweet Drive near the intersection of Soquel Drive. The artist, Vanessa Stafford, had a long approval process because these boxes are owned by the California Transportation department. They required a disclaimer to be placed on the boxes, indicating that the views depicted represent those of the artist and not CALTRANS or the FAA! (see photos).
The boxes depict scenes that might be found at the nearby Chaminade Resort. The center box depicts a couple sitting at a table under an umbrella, while the two side boxes show some Spanish-style architecture that can be found at Chaminade.
More painted utility boxes by Vanessa Stafford can also be seen at this waymarking.com link.
The (unpainted at this time) utility box can be seen in Google Street View.
