Mit 1048 m Höhe ist der Pröller der bekannteste Berg um Sankt Englmar und Kollnburg im Bayerischen Wald.
Bei gutem Wetter hat man vom Gipfelkreuz eine gute Aussicht nach Osten, die vom Hohen Bogen, Kaitersberg, Osser, Großer Arber bis zum Rachel reicht.
Früher hatte man zudem noch freie Sicht nach Süden und Westen, weil der Gipfel weiträumig baumfrei war.
Dies ist auf alten Fotos von der ersten Gipfelkreuzeinweihung 1923 zu erkennen.
Grundstückseigentümer des Pröllergipfels ist seit 1922 die Sektion Straubing des Bayerischen Wald-Vereins.
Mehrere Wanderwege führen um und zu dem Gipfel hoch so z.B. der Pröllerrundweg (Weg N°4).
Alle Wege sind sehr gut ausgeschildert.
Der Aufstieg über den Nordhang von Hinterwies ist steil und führt entlang einer Skiabfahrtsstrecke.
Der Aufstieg von der Südseite vom Parkplatz am Predigstuhl ist moderat und ist bis auf wenige Stellen Kinderwagen geeignet.
Im Winter ist der Pröller mit seinen Liftanlagen auf der West-, Nord- und Ostseite einer der bedeutendsten Skiberge im Bayerischen Wald.

In good weather you have a good view to the east, ranging from Hohenbogen, Kaitersberg, Osser, Arber to the Rachel from the summit cross.

Property owners of Pröllergipfels is since 1922 the section Straubing the Bavarian Forest Association.
Several hiking trails to the summit and to perform high so as the Pröllerrundweg (route N ° 4).
All routes are well signposted.
The climb up the northern slope of Hinterwies is steep and leads along a Skiabfahrtsstrecke.
The climb from the south side of the parking lot at Predigstuhl is moderate and is down to a few points prams.
In winter the Pröller with its lifts on the west, north and east side of one of the greatest ski mountains in the Bavarian Forest.
