Charles Galphin Allan, III, 36, was born in Galveston, TX on August 25, 1975. He passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011. He is preceded in death by his father Charles G Allan II & his canine companion Nalu.

He is survived by his son: Charles “Charlie” Allan, IV, his wife: Tracy Jo, his mother: Inez Allan(Jamaica Beach), sisters: Cheri Balla and her husband Ernie (Granger, TX), Margaret Allan(Galveston), Mae “Cissy” Spicer(Jamaica Beach), and Charlene Allan (Jamaica Beach), niece Melissa Fewell and her husband Jason and their son Mason (Galveston), nephews: Christopher Laws and his son G.C.(Manor), Jesse Richey (Galveston), Matthew Giles (Galveston), his Aunts: Leona Cantrell (Jamaica Beach), and Ruth Puritt (Bertram), his cousin Robert Cantrell and wife Penny (Spring), his brother in law, Steve Spicer and his close friend and friend of the whole family, Mason Cagnola, among many, many others and extended family members.

Charles’ whole life was his 11 year old son Charlie. Charles’ passion was surfing.

He graduated with honors in Elementary Education at the University of Texas A & M, Corpus Christi, went on to teach Special Education there before moving back to Galveston recently with his son and new wife, Tracy Jo to be around his family and finish raising his son here. He was a great teacher, not only professionally, but especially in the life he shared with his son. He made sure that Charlie wasn’t only getting an education from school, but also experienced outside the
classroom like camping, fishing, surfing, and traveling.

He instilled in his son a loving big heart, free spirit, an eagerness to try new things, and a love for nature. Charles especially loved the beach. His favorite place to be was the west coast of Mexico. He made friends everywhere he went. He had the greatest smile and laugh. He always saw the good in everyone and his heart is gold. Those who knew and loved him are suffering a tragic loss. He will be missed by many and loved and remembered always.

The family is at peace knowing that he is in heaven.

A memorial service for the family and close friends will be held at Carnes Funeral Home in Galveston on Friday, December 23 at noon. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up in Charles Allan’s honor. If you would like to make a contribution, please make checks payable to Tracy Jo Snow and send to: Inez Allan, 5184 Jamaica Beach Galveston, TX 77554.
