Blasterz tried to patronize the Elephant's Head, but they do not allow children after 7pm, and we weren't going to leave our teenaged girls on the Camden High Street by themselves! :0
The pub was lovely inside, and locals told us the food was very good, but it was not to be for us, since we could never organize ourselves to be back in Camden before dusk. [sigh]
This pub is located on the corner of the Camden High Street and Jamestown Road in Camden, about a block south of the Camden Market. It's a lively place even when the live bands are not on!
The pub's website lacks much on the history of the pub, preferring to tout testimonials and nearby tourist attractions: (

But from the Cool Places in the UK website, we did find some more specific information on this classic pub: (

"We say
Every Camdenite has a soft spot for the Elephant's Head. It's been here a long time, and is one of a handful of pubs which stay open till 2am on a Sunday. it's also resolutely resistant to change, a fairly typical London watering hole in a two-pints-of-lager-and-a-packet-of-crisps vein, with a retro and slightly mesmerising juke box, good standard pub grub, along with British drink classics like mulled wine in the winter and Pims in the summer. A good, trad alternative among the more dedicated fashion-following bars that surround it."
